Longines Athina Onassis Horse Show
A French podium for the Prix de Nikki Beach de Saint-Tropez
02-06-2017

There were 36 participants for the day's first event:  the Prix Nikki Beach de Saint-Tropez.

They had to be fast for the 1.40m event in two phases.

Solene Levallois (FRA)/Ucello de Beaufour, number 4, held the lead for the event with all options: After a smooth run, she crossed the finish line at 33.59 seconds.

Victoria Tachet (FRA)/Univers du Vinnebus tried to take the lead in the event. Less rapid at 34.24 seconds, she had to settle for second place.

Second to the last on the starting list, Guillaume Canet (FRA) and his second horse, Sweet Boy d‘Alpa, didn't risk the option between number 10 and 11, which held him back from overcoming the two leaders, finishing third in 35 seconds.

Words from Solene Levallois:

"I didn't think I was going fast, I took sharp turns and succeeded in taking the options. I am surprised that I kept the lead because there were some very good riders in this event. The horse is one of our breeds and I am very proud to have won with him."

Words from Guillaume Canet: "My horse is in very good physical condition, yesterday I ranked 4th with him. Today I wasn't daring enough and I didn't choose the option between number 10 and 11, I turned too wide...I'm very happy to be on the podium."
